On the night we took ownership of Maison Monique, I met a lady who said she came from just outside Dunedin, Waitati. I and my family grew up there. Lost touch with Melva sadly. Rest in peace Melva, you have earned it. Sorry that I am unable to attend funeral as I will be out of town. Barbara and Ward Reid nee Brenssell

Alvin, Suzanne and Maxine sorry to hear of your mother's sudden passing. Glad I saw her being her bubbly self on Christmas eve when I dropped by and gave her Sheryl's traditional xmas present. I know she will be sorely missed. Now they can both argue about what plants should go where etc somewhere up there. My deepest sympathy. Harmen Grouwstra

We have lovely memories of Melva and Ken through many years, starting when my father(Brian Wilson) worked in their kiwi fruit orchard (1970's). We remember Melva as an incredibly hard worker and she loved her ducks! We send our heartfelt condolences to Alvin & Helen, Sue & Kim, Maxine & Mark and their families. Love from Grant & Michelle Savage & Marilyn Wilson
