It is with deep sadness, we announce the passing of Lynley (Lyn) Gay Fleming, age 62, of Nelson.
Her light was taken from the world, and the lives of all who knew her, on January 1st, 2025.
Beloved wife of Bryn, mother of Rayna and Aren, daughter of Ray and Colleen, and sister of Woody, Carol, and Jo.
Our sincere gratitude to the staff at Nelson Hospital, whose heroic efforts enabled Lyn’s family to be present in her final moments.
A private ceremony will be held at 1pm on January 16th at the Trafalgar Centre, honouring Lyn’s life and her service to both Police and the community. The funeral will be livestreamed online and screened at Nelson Cathedral for those who wish to pay their respects.

I lived in nelson for 15 years and the police in that station are lovely and lyn was awesome I also went to Nelson girls college and played netball I use to see lyn coaching the other girls she was bloody amazing
To a beautiful inspirational woman who will be sorely missed by many. Lyn an absolute privilege to have known and worked with you . I like many will cherish the memories I have of you. Lyn- sorry I can’t be here today, Im on another bloody cruise…. You taught me patience! Your calming effect on some of the characters we brought in on nightshit was incredible, and you would always smile. Yes you definitely were Station mother.
