He was a great man. I met Peter 30+ years ago. I came from Auckland to learn Māori Tourism in Kaitaia .He taught me so much. A man who had a answer for everything. Very knowledgable . cheers Pete for the knowledge you passed on . Man with a big heart. Rest in peace. To his children Kia Kaha.

Peter Kitchen was a remarkable teacher and a compassionate soul who shared his deep knowledge of rongoā with kindness and wisdom. I will forever cherish the lessons he taught and the profound connection he fostered with the natural world. His presence at my son’s funeral four years ago, during one of the darkest times of my life, was a profound gesture of support that I will never forget. Peter’s legacy lives on in the healing knowledge he passed on and the countless lives he touched. May he rest in peace and be forever remembered with love and gratitude.
