Dear Carol & Family, I watched Johns funeral online as neither Dennis nor I could make the service. What a great tribute from his family, friends and mates. Your words were a wonderful eulogy, Carol, you shared 40 years with a unique & gentle man with ways of his own dealing with life. His loving ways with his close family of all ages, his work ethic, loyalty and smart brain has left each person he crossed paths with a memory of a personality that was John Lawson Wells. Well loved and very sadly gone. Smile on John. Jeni brown
I liked how John was different. He didn't fit into a mould. He had a sharp mind and wry wit and he was so interesting to talk to. He wanted to get to know you and I always felt like a better person after my conversations with John. He knew a lot about a lot of things. A marvelous human. I'm sad for your loss Carol but you have many amazing memories to draw on. Arohanui.
So sorry to hear this news. Fond memories of John our neighbour on Cowling Road and for Ross getting to know John at Farm discussion. Deepest sympathy to you xx
Our thoughts are with you Carol over this very sad time. Wishing you peace and fond memories.
Carol and family I am so saddened to see the loss of such a gentleman. I loved the years I worked alongside John, he was a man of such wisdom and kindness and was always so encouraging to the next generations whilst also imparting his vast wisdom. In more recent times I have enjoyed our brief encounters as fellow dog walkers on the Tehenui. May John rest in peace and the family hold their treasured memories close.
John said that he loved walking the dogs along the beach. I always valued his thoughtful comments. He was sincere and kind. With a cup of tea in hand we would chat & share stories when I was visiting. John read widely and had such a vast general knowledge. He was interesting to listen to. I remember John cooking up big jars of rhubarb for breakfast or if he had been hunting he would treat you to a venison back steak. He was totally one of a kind. Carol, we all love you and feel your loss. Sending my love and hugs. Lorraine
With deepest sympathy at this time Carol. May the many special memories somehow support you during this time. Blessings 🙌 Margaret
