So sad we could not be with you in person Rosalie. A truly wonderful and honouring service for Don's amazing life and love for Jesus to the end. We give thanks to you both for 47 yrs of friendship together, and with the boys. They are a great credit to Don's and your love, care and nurturing of them growing up and even now. May the Holy Spirit give you His peace as you mourn the loss of you true soul-mate. We will miss him so much too. Love, Prayers and see you soon hopefully. Trevor & Jan.

Rosalie, Brett, Fraser, Russell and families, My condolences on your loss of Uncle Don. I feel privileged to have been able to be virtually present today to mark Don's passing and feel the love. Thank you for arranging for the service to be live streamed. Uncle Don was always kind and incredibly generous with his time, even for young nieces. I always felt like there was nobody else in his world when his attention was on you, regardless of who you were. He always sought to make you feel comfortable and seen, and if he could land a joke well and make you laugh, then all the better. The last time I had the pleasure of Don's company, he took my family for a spin in his Other Love, and I'll always remember his childlike joy and pride. He was such a great mechanic and car lover. My strongest memories of Uncle Don from my youth: him cutting tomatoes for a sandwich for me at the dinner table, grease not only under his nails but imbedded in the skin of his fingers, and how he was always humming a tune in his lovely deep tone, occasionally breaking into song when the spirit took him. On reflection, these three memories really sum up Uncle Don for me: taking the time, loving his cars, and his unfailingly positive outlook on life. He will be much missed, and I'm so glad my family got to spend some time with him in December 2022. All our love, Sarah Piper (nee Penning), Mike, Hannah and Zac x x
