Worked with you at New World Whakatane under Alan Abel. Bumped into you a few times over the years and again last year. Sorry to hear you have left earth but know there is someone there to welcome you. Rest easy John
I was one of the lucky ones to be informed of your passing. I was devastated to say the least. John - you gave me my first opportunity to make a dollar and make something of my life. You employed me at the tender age of 14 at Whakatane New World - after school then eventually full time. After you left Whakatane New World, I happened upon some tough times, but you picked me up... You took me under your wing, employed me, - again!!! Whakatane Liquorland as the sausage girl then Tauranga liquorland. I have so many great memories of you and the opportunities you made available to me... Rest in peace. Smiley
I felt sad that I didn't know until today of your passing to come and honour you John. You were a good work colleague to my late Mum and we had a great relationship through New World. You were one of the few who came to support me, when Jan ( Mum) passed. I think we had a good working relationship and you were always a good man to sharpen the pencil on a deal. Fly free, and know always that your familiar smiling face was always a treat in amongst the chaos. Rosemary
This was unexpected news, so so sad to say goodbye John. I used to be John's boss at Liquorland Tga, and we had so many funny times over the years. I used to always tell, you shack hands like a women. And he always told me to get stuffed. John had high standards and I loved that about John. A very good salesman, he could sell Ice to a snow man I reckon. From all your ol crew at Liquorland, Critch, Pauline. Graham, Lynette, Trevor. Fond memories that will live for a life time. Bye for now John.
Uncle John, may your beloved angel, who has been waiting for you, welcome you with open arms as you now rest beside her for eternity. May she guide you with love and peace as you embark on this next journey in the great beyond. You will be deeply missed, but we promise to carry your memory in our hearts and watch over your sister for you, just as you would have wanted. Our hearts are with Coco, who loved you dearly and shared so many beautiful moments with you. I will always hear your voice calling me "Little One" Rest well, Uncle John, surrounded by love, light, and the eternal embrace of your angel.
