Peacefully at home in Oakura on Tuesday 4 February 2025, aged 73.
Dearly loved husband and best friend of Robyn for 52 years.
Loved Dad of Simon and Hayley, Kirsty and Brent Taylor, and Luke and Betsy.
Much loved and cherished Grandad of Olivia, and Angus; Lincoln, Hudson, and Lennon; Kaiyn, Zaydae, and Tana.
A Funeral Mass for John will be held at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, 38 Cumming Street, Okato on Saturday 8 February 2025 at 11am, followed by a private cremation.

Dear Robyn and family, It's hard to put into words how much John meant to us and our fellow workmates. He was Uncle John to us all and gave the best advice and told the best stories. During Covid he kept the company bonded as a family with his videos on things like hot chilli sauce. We will miss him so much. A true gentleman. Pam and Kevin.

John’s’ humour, astute awareness, and loyalty to the brand and each member of the McDonald RE team was evident always. Just seeing him in his office as you walked in lifted everyone’s spirits. He connected across all ages with ease. I never heard anything other than words of warmth and respect for ‘Uncle John’ Love and hugs to Robyn Luke and family ❤️

John (young fella) will be sorely missed as he was my mentor and friend from the day i started with McDonald Real Estate. I always asked him for advice and he was always happy to help. Great bloke gone way to soon. RIP
