I first met Peter around 1960 when he and Helen were courting, and Helen was my babysitter. I have always admired Peter, he was a great human being. Rest in Peace Peter.
It is with sadness I read of Sir Peters passing last month. When I was at Mount College in 1970 his law firm gave me a testimonial that lead me to enjoy a great career. Having a strong faith is a great example to others. My condolences to Helen and all the Trapski family.
Our sincere condolences to the Trapski family on the passing of Peter, a gentle and just man. Peter and Helen were friends of our deceased parents, Doug and Marie Dillon, while living in Rotorua. We trust you will find solace in your family memories with Peter. With kindness and love, The Dillon sisters (Rotorua).
My association with Peter was during our time together on the Sun Pacific Villas management committee. His professional expertise was invaluable but just as impressive was the way he fitted in so seamlessly with everyone he met. He was a really lovely man. Shirley and I offer our sincere condolences to Helen and all of the family. We are sure you will have many happy memories to provide some comfort. Kind regards, Rob Waugh
So sad to hear of Peter's passing. Peter was a great supporter of Emmaus at St Mary Immaculate Church. Love and Prayers to you, Helen, and your family at this time.
It is with sadness that we learn of the passing of Peter. The Bouchier family had a long association with the Trapski family at the Mount. Peter began his judicial career in Rotorua in 1972, the same year I joined the police there. I appeared before him often. In the mid 1980s Peter appointed Josephine a District Court Judge. Our friendship was rekindled by that appointment. Peter’s contribution to the law and the community in so many ways, was huge. He was an outstanding Stipendiary Magistrate, District Court judge and Chief District court judge who brought a profoundly wise and insiteful quality in his decision making. Peter was not only respected by the legal profession, he showed respect to all those that appeared in his court. Our condolences go out to Peter’s family. Rest in peace Peter.
My thoughts are with you at this time of sorrow. I have many memories of the Trapski family from my years growing up in Mount Maunganui, and in particular debating against Peter and the Jaycee team when I was at Mount Maunganui College, and being part of the wider parish family. Condolences on behalf of the Hickey family. Sorry I cannot join you for the service, but will be thinking of you all. Liz Hickey
To Helen and Family, my most sincere condolences on the death of Peter. I have many memories of Peters emails and our contacts with and through a very dear friend. My apologies for not being able to attend the Requiem. Peter my friend, May holy Mary, the angels, and all the saints welcome you now that you have gone forth from this life. May Christ who was crucified for you, bring you freedom and peace. May Christ who died for you admit you into his garden of paradise. May Christ, the true Shepherd, embrace you as one of his flock.
