Its with much sadness I advise the passing of my much loved wife Shirley.
Dearly loved mother and mother in-law of Kylie and Glenn, and Andre and Tania and adored Sammy of Jessica, Ethan, Trey, Devon, Harlan, and Oaklyn.
Will be sadly missed .
A special big thank you to the caring team at Cantabria Life Care, for looking after Shirley over the last three years.
Shirley and I were friends in our teenage years. In fact we were great friends. We met when we were both working in the office of the Dairy Company at the bottom of Norton Road. At one stage I moved in with the Webbs and boarded with them. Shirley and I shared a bedroom. It was a lot of fun. Shirley worked part time as a picture theatre usher and sometimes she wouldn't get in until 11pm. At my request she would bring home chocolate peanuts and we would lie in bed eating them, talking and laughing. Her mum and dad were so kind to me. Mrs Webb loved to sew and also knit. She was super talented. Mr Webb worked at the sales yards just a bit over the road from where they lived. When I got married Shirley was my bridesmaid. That's how special she was to me. But sadly, for reasons unknown to me, we lost touch shortly after that. I always fantasised that one day we would bump into each other just out of the blue. But of course that never happened and now never will. I feel so much sadness having just found out this news. I wish things could have been different. I really do. Sleep in heavenly peace dear Shirley. xx
