Such a lovely photo of Jan and just as I always think of her. We met at a meeting of the 'Housewives Register' in Cheadle/Gatley about 1972/3, hoping to find a group we would enjoy. We didn't, but liked each other very much and continued to meet regularly with our collection of daughters! I was sad when she and Martin decided to emigrate, but we kept in touch over the years and have managed to meet up, both in Australia (when they came over and we spent some lovely time together) and at our home in Hertfordshire. I've thought of Jan often over the years with great fondness and wish Martin, and the entire family, strength and love. Wendy.

We have many wonderful memories of our special friendship with Martin and Janice as two young couples from South London during the 1960s-early 70's. It was a great honour to act as best man at their wedding in June 1969, a role that Martin reciprocated at our own wedding on New Years Day 1972. Memories of youth club at Ramsden Road Baptist; first home at Morland Road (Sutton); the arrival of two lovely daughters; a working party weekend when moving home to Gatley (Manchester), and erecting new fencing at our first home in Newbold Verdon (Leics). Jan was a truly wonderful person, loyal and dedicated to her large family; she will be sadly missed by them and can now rest in peace, leaving behind a legacy of wonderful memories from happier times together.
