I was at Alexandra Park recently for a celebration of my dear friend Ken, who had passed. There was a horse in the autumn racing schedule called Memories. It felt fitting that the horse was named so, reflecting my thoughts at this time, and Ken loved horses. KP, as he was known, was a great friend for 60 years, and there are no words that can convey a sentiment more appropriate than that he lived a life full of success and sincerity. Going back over 55 years i have many fond memories of KP either as a flat mate , fellow Wellington Harrier , work colleague or latterly enjoying a flat white at Ken's favourite haunt ' The Fat Dog ' along with Ray Hewlett. I will miss his regular phone calls and of course receiving a myriad of informative emails . Rest In Peace my friend Richard Merlo , Christchurch
