Sir, I'll never forgot your fun and that cheeky smile. It was a pleasure and honour to have served you as an officer of the Court in Hamilton. You made everyone feel valued and appreciated, always went the extra mile to help not only those who passed through the courts door, but also the staff whanau when we had a land matter (I particularly am very thankful for the help you gave me). Say a big hi to Dino and all those in the upper house. Much love to Alison and all the whanau Alan, Winnie (Ex PA to Hoe Marumaru) and our lil tribe
Dear Alison, Mere and I were very sorry to read of Nick’s passing. In the death notice you record your time together as “60 Wonderful Years”. I recall a conversation we had at a dinner following a Judge’s conference in Rotorua, when you expressed your appreciation of how well Nick provided for your family, especially with Papamoa. It was memorable for me because usually people speak about someone like this in the past - BUT in your case…. your endearment to Nick was in the present. I have never forgotten. I also remember the friendships Nick enjoyed with Chick McHugh, Kevin Cull and Hoe Marumaru. There was a kindness amongst them and the diligence of their work in Court. I recall also Greg’s funeral at Te Kuiti Rugby Clubrooms, when you both provided the leadership and strength to your family. The LOVE in your marriage remains in the present, and endures by example for your family. Arohanui Andrew and Mere.
So sorry to hear of Mr Carter's passing. I was lucky enough to work alongside Judge Carter at the Maori Land Court in Hamilton. He was a lovely man who was always happy to share his knowledge. My thoughts are with the whanau today and in the coming days. Kia Kaha. Arohanui, Lee-Anne, Mike & Whanau xx
