Passed away peacefully on March 27th, 2025, at Palmerston North Hospital, aged 78 years.
Loved husband, best friend, and soul mate of Marie. Dearly loved Dad and father-in-law of Marlene and Phil Rankin and Rob and Kelly Start. Much loved Grandad of Karl, Toby, Frances and Jayden.
Loved brother of Jane, Kath, Ernie, and Brian. Special Uncle to his nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Allen’s life will be held at the Lychway Chapel, 5 Roy Street, Palmerston North, on Monday 31st March 2025 at 11am. For those who cannot attend, Allen’s service will be livestreamed. Visit Allen’s tribute page at www.thelychway.co.nz/tributes/ for the link.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to St John (Ambulance) in Allen’s memory would be greatly appreciated. www.donate.stjohn.org.nz/ or can be left in Chapel foyer.

Uncle Allen was a fabulous Uncle, I use to spend school holidays with him and Aunty Marie, we were always laughing, and on this sad day, I will hear his laugh and smiling face.....Thanks for the happy memories.
I regret I didn’t get to know Allen better because he was such a nice person always willing to help others. I know he will be missed by many people.
