We never did clarify the great golfing debate, Al : were you slow or methodical? Either way you were amusing company and a pretty good golfer as well.

Greatly saddened to learn of your passing, you were one of our favouriteuncles.. We have many fond memories from childhood to later years. Whenever you visited it was a joy to spend time with you. I remember when you visited you always has pudding, chips and peas from the chippy, with either a bottle of Tizer or Dandelion and Burdock. You will always be in our hearts and memories. God bless, fiom Mike, Colin and family.

Although we met you late on in our lives, I still felt a strong family connection with you having the same Dad. We have so many happy memories of our holidays together with you and Tracey in New Zealand and Australia and our holiday in Crete where you joined us with others from our family. Edward , our son, will never forget coming over and having a wonderful experience with you on your travels around New Zealand together. Our daughter Julia and her husband Matt came to New Zealand as part of their honeymoon and were able to share with you some great times which they will always treasure. Although we lived so far apart, we were able to keep in touch in particular with birthdays and Christmas and the exchange of photographs during holiday times. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank Tracey for the love and support she gave Alan all the way through his later years. These are memories we will always treasure. Anne (nee Greenwood) and Allan Rowlands and family.

Alan we may have been thousands of miles apart, but you were seldom out of our thoughts. Many time reflecting our once in a lifetime get together for my 50th birthday touring both north and south islands of New Zealand. You certainly planned a full itinerary for us, packing in as much as you could to ensure a memorable time together. So many fond happy memories to treasure forever. Thanks also go out to you Tracey for your love and care throughout, right up to the very end ensuring that Alan did not pass alone. Forever grateful. "Side by side or miles apart, siblings will always be connected by heart". Your loving sister Janet and brother in law David.
