Gordon was a good friend of my Parents, Connie and Robert Lee, for many years. He participated in my birthday parties for 10 years in a row, taking me and all my friends biscuiting on Lake Okareka. Going over to his house in Okareka was always good fun. There were lots of stairs to run up and down, a trampoline outside, and a big hill, great for sliding down on flattened cardboard boxes. If I behaved well, there was ice cream to go around. Some years later, a tradition began where my younger brother Andrew would spend Friday nights at Gordon and Shirley's house. He was 2 when it began and he called them Gorgor and Yiyi). When the youngest sibling, Samantha, got older she got in on the fun and they both still spend Friday nights at Shirley's house. Gordon and Shirley soon became their (fairy) Godmother and Godfather. Gordon had a major impact on me and my family. He made all of our lives better. Thank you Gordon.
Gordon was my friend of 70 years we were in town squadron together and we both served our time at TEAL. at mechanics bay in Auckland He will be sorely missed. Happy sailing my friend. Bruce
