We were welcomed into the Ryan family many years ago. Jim and I shared many very happy family gatherings together with you all. John was a true gentleman and will cherish the wonderful memories we have with John and Nola. Deepest condolences to, Nola, Anne, Jill and families. Members of the United Pigeon Fanciers Association would like to extend their sympathies to the Ryan family for the passing of John. He was highly respected within the pigeon fancy for his dedication to the hobby and his achievements in producing many fine quality birds which he would often generously give away to help fellow breeders. At poultry/pigeon shows, John was often asked for his advice on the many aspects of pigeon breeding such was his reputation and on a personal note, I had many interesting conversations with him about our birds. John will be sadly missed by pigeon fanciers from around NZ, our hobby has lost a real gentleman and a lifetime of valuable experience with his passing. RIP John. Very sad to hear this news Ryan family. John was an excellent Judge, Showman and mentor to so many of us and he was such a lovely man. He shared his knowledge, guidance and beautifully presented birds with so many of us, his birds were well bred, quiet and a pleasure to judge and John was happy to share his knowledge with breeders and always had time to talk to exhibitors. He was a true gentleman and he adored his Wife and family. So sorry for your loss. Fly free John
