Val passed peacefully at Hawera Hospital on Tuesday 8th April 2025, aged 87 years. Dearly loved wife of the late John. Adored mum of Tracey and Grant, Julie and Shane, Chris and Estelle, Paul and Tanya. Cherished Nana Val of Melissa and Blair, Nicole and Jared; Grace and Jared; Cody, and Aleyna. Loved Great-Nana of Ella, Phoebe, Jack; Tyler, Luke, and Lachie. Communication to the Grant Family may be sent c/- PO Box 605, Hawera 4640. A service to celebrate Val's life will be held at Tairoa Lodge, 3 Puawai Street, on Friday 11th April 2025, commencing at 11am, after which a private cremation will be held. To Tracey and family, thinking of you at this sad time. I remember on Friday nights when I traveled from Hawera back to Manaia with your Mum and Jean Conway after work, it was always a happy commute. You were a loving and caring daughter Tracey, so hold onto all those good memories and they will keep her close to your heart ♥
Dear Tracey and family, I'm very sorry to read this. I was just talking to Val only a few weeks ago when visiting Nana (Bev Thomas). Her and Nana had great chats sitting out on the couch and down at the dinner table. I will miss seeing her welcoming smile on my visits. Thinking of you at this sad time.
