I have been very blessed to get to know Rowland over the past two years at Greenwood Park Village, having not seen him since childhood days in Gisborne. He was a faithful witness to his Lord and his prayers in our chapel services attested to the close relationship he had with Him. He was very kind to me and I think he rather enjoyed having a relative in the village. Everyone knew him as a gentleman with a faith that never wavered. We were all very sad when he had to leave us and go to Auckland, but he was at peace, even though he knew his time was short. I am so sorry I wasn’t able to get to the funeral, but will watch it on line and grieve along with all those who knew him. To the family he left behind - thank God that we will see Rowland again one day, and meanwhile he is rejoicing in the presence of our Lord and Saviour, face to face at last. 1 Thess 4:13
