Dear Ajit, Deanne, Daniel, Fr. Glen and family members God wanted us to witness an Angel on Earth and he gave us Patty - his angel! This May 2025! It will be a year since we first met Patty and Ajit at the Marian tour of Europe. Probably the shortest period of knowing a person but a feeling of a lifetime. That's the impact that Angels have on you . It's too shocking for me to accept that Patty has really left us..me.. but her unforgettable memories of all that we shared in 27 days has given me the assurance that she is interceding for every person she knew and will b there to welcome us all. Dear Deanne and Daniel, your mum never stopped talking about you! She beamed with joy and pride at every milestone you achieved and it showed how much she loves you. I have fond memories of Patty and me praying together, sharing meals, writing petitions and sneaking them nearest to the relics of the saints, and now I can feel her smiling from up above telling me she is already with her favorite saints, in the loving arms of our father.. Will always miss you Patty! My deepest condolences to you Ajit! You hve been a role model of the perfect spouse, in action more than words! And to you dear Deanne and Daniel! Mum loves you even more and is closest to you. Our prayers and love to all of you. Merlyn, Kevin, Johann and Jonathan- Mumbai - Mulund

Dear Ajit, Deanne, Daniel, and family, My deepest sympathies to you all. I had the privilege of knowing Patricia for over 25 years. I always enjoyed our conversations during my visits for a haircut, where we would chat about a wide range of topics. I was grateful for her time and patience, even amidst her busy work schedule and family commitments. She also cared for both my parents during their time at the eye clinic, and they were full of praise for her kindness and professionalism. I will always remember Patricia for her warm smile, relaxed conversations, caring nature, and her passion for gardening, hairdressing, and styling. She will be deeply missed. With heartfelt condolences, Anu Mysore and family

Dearest Ajit, Deanne, Danny and the rest of the family, We were shocked when we first heard of Patty's illness and are deeply grieved that she is no longer with us. Nevertheless, we must rejoice that she is now in a place where there is no more pain and suffering. Besides being an excellent nurse, Patty was, among other things, an extremely talented hair dresser. Cynthia fondly remembers her caring hospitality as she served her with a refreshing lime juice to relieve her from Bombay's heat every time she visited her for a haircut. She would receive endless compliments about her beautiful hairdo. Every visit was so much more than a haircut but a calming therapeutic session. It was during one of these sessions that Patty sowed the seeds of migration to New Zealand. We are extremely grateful to Patty and you for being instrumental in influencing a major turning point in our lives. She made us realise that we too could leave a mundane life in India and follow your footsteps to a better life. We can never forget how much her encouragement, positive attitude, her faith and trust in the Almighty enriched our lives. We pray that her soul rests in peace and that she receives her well-deserved reward for the wonderful, generous person she was. With Love and Prayers, Dominic and Cynthia

Sending you all my love and support.

In Loving Memory of Patty We praise and thank God for Patty’s beautiful life — a life lived with deep purpose, overflowing love, and unshakable faith. She was the most giving, selfless soul we knew — a true woman of God who reflected His love in every word and deed. Though she was the only friend we knew in Auckland, she became far more than that. She and Ajit opened their hearts and home to us. They made sure we never felt alone in a new land. Patty helped us settle not just physically, but spiritually — making sure we had all we needed, and more. Her kindness made Auckland feel like home, and her prayers strengthened us through many seasons. She was a quiet intercessor, a loving friend, and family in every sense of the word. We are ever grateful for the way she embraced our family with compassion and care. Her absence leaves a deep void in our hearts, but we know heaven has gained a radiant soul. Our love and prayers are with Ajit, Deanne, Daniel, and the family. May God’s comfort and peace surround you all. We weep, but not without hope, For love like hers lives on. One day we’ll meet where sorrow ends, And joy is never gone. In a place beyond the veil, Where pain no longer stays— We’ll celebrate the journey shared, In heaven’s endless days. With love, The Joy Family

Since my day 1 in Totara, Patty has shown me exceptional kindness and acceptance. She was one of the people that you can easily connect with. She is soft spoken, genuine, and at most times looks after others more than herself. Her selflessness is a gift many have appreciated, evidenced by all the people who showed concern the time she got sick. “Don’t worry about me. I will be okay” she told me, that time I came to visit her in the hospital. My eyes trying to stop tears from coming out. But she was still full of life, optimism, positivity. I stopped and thought, I have to be strong too for Patty as that what she would want for all of us worrying about her. Thank you Patty, for everything you have shared with us during your wonderful lifetime. We will always remember you for your kindness and warmth. You are definitely “okay” now, with our Father’s graces. My last handover would probably be, We will be all okay here too. And we will miss you…always.

Patty, Ajith and Dianne have been family friends for over 30 years, and it is very sad to see Patty leave us, but she has returned to our heavenly father and her suffering is over. Patty has been a close friend of my late wife Felicia and a loving aunty to my two children. She will be sorely missed by all of us, especially the St John Vianney parish community. Patty was closely involved in the church, especially as a reader. In fact I missed her reading from the book of Genesis this Easter Vigil service, as it has been done by her for many years. May her soul find eternal rest with our Lord. Goonetilleke family Sunitha, Nissanka and Shenali

Dear Pinto Family, A little poem of Gods Love Footprints in the Sand One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each, I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints; other times there was only one. During the low periods of my life I could see only one set of footprints, so I said, "You promised me, Lord, that you would walk with me always. Why, when I have needed you most, have you not been there for me?" The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of footprints, my child, is when I carried you."

The Ship # I am standing on the seashore, a ship sails in the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. She is an object of beauty and I stand watching her till at last she fades on the horizon and someone at my side says: "She is gone." Gone! Where Gone from my sight that is all. She is just as large in the masts, hull and spars as she was when I saw her, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to its destination. The diminished size and total loss of sight is in me, not in her, and just at the moment when someone at my side says, "She is gone" there are others who are watching her coming, and other voices take up a glad shout: "There she comes!" Dear Ajit, Deanne and Daniel, Patty was truly a remarkable woman whose presence brought light and warmth to everyone around her. Her unwavering love and faith were evident in everything she did, and her ability to face challenges with grace and strength was truly inspiring. Patty had a unique gift for making the world a better place, and her positive influence will be cherished forever. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. May the cherished memories of her love and kindness bring you comfort and peace. With heartfelt sympathy, Robert, Tanya, Ian and Ethan

Dearest Ajit, Deanne, Martin and Daniel, It is so hard to comprehend that our dearest Patty has gone back to be with the Lord. She has been our spiritual guide, and a person of kindness, love and immense faith. Even though she was unwell, she welcomed me with the same smile I had remembered for years. We will miss her dearly. We know your lives will never be the same again, but as our Lord said - I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid (John 14:27). Be assured of our love and prayers.
