Dear Kerry and family I have only just learned of Peggy's passing. What a treasure she was. Mum and Dad (Annette and the late John Geddis) knew her and Rash for many years through the newspaper industry. Lots of happy times and many stories! Dad passed away in 2010 but Peggy and mum would still contact each other regularly and have looong conversations. Peggy's had an absolute heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. Please accept our deepest sympathy. She will be sadly missed. Juls Honore and Annette Geddis

It's difficult to believe any world exists without Uncle Rash and Auntie Pegg. My grandmother, who was Rashleigh's sister-in-law, died last year. Although passing is part of life, it doesn't make it any easier. Particularly when you have known and loved these people your whole life. Rest easy Aunty Pegg thanks for all the biscuits you supplied when i dropped by after school for all those years. xxxx

Peg became a great golfing friend of my mother, Noeline Lawrence, at Kaitake Golf Club. They continued to keep in regular contact once they both retired from golf. I have fond memories of picking up Peg from Jean Sandle to allow her to visit my ailing mother. Her visits provided my mother great pleasure. My deepest sympathy to all of Peg’s family. I trust the many wonderful memories you have give you comfort during your time of loss.

I met Peggy through the Oakura golf club and was delighted when this delightful 90 year old woman rang and asked if I would like to play 9 holes of golf one Sunday afternoon. So began a weekend ritual and a beautiful friendship which continued after I had moved to Wellington in 2018. Peggy kept in touch by email, and the occasional telephone call., and it was my, and my husband’s delight to visit Peggy and maybe go out for lunch, or have a cuppa at her house or maybe go to a film whenever we happened to have reason to be visiting the area we had enjoyed living in, Taranaki. Peggys’s enthusiasm for sport, her love of people, and her enthusiasm for life in general were inspirational. How many of us can boast a friend who, at 90, asks you to play 9 holes? And is likely to stop and to chat to Beaumont Barrett on the golf course? To her family, many heard of, but never met by me, you have had before you a wonderful example of a woman who enjoyed life to the full. Lucy you. It was with sadness but acceptance that we both, Peg and I acknowledged it was probably our last goodbye when Peggy accepted late last year that it was time for her to move out of her independent villa and into more wrap around care at Jean Sandal Thank you Peggy for sharing the good life with me. Rest in peace.
