Tributes

I spent many years singing with John in Kowhai Singers. I particularly loved Carol's account. I remember that rendition of Scarlet Ribbons at the Puhoi Hall, it brought me to tears! John usually sat behind me and slightly to my left shoulder. He often had his face buried in his music but still managed to make up most of the notes! A lovely bass voice all the same. Will be missed.

RIP dear John. So sorry to miss your funeral service yesterday but my thoughts were with you. So enjoyed our time together in the past 6 years since I joined the choir. You were very special with a lilting and soothing baritone voice., and a great sense of humour. We’ll miss you immensely. Jon B

We have known John for many years and I personally have been on stage in shows over the past 35 years, as well as Graeme and I doing backstage props all part of shows in which John has also been in. He was always passionate about performing and had a very strong voice. We wish him peace and comfirt to his family.
