Remembering Jilleen with love. In 1971 she met us at Southampton and took all 5 of us (Nurses) to her home in Westerham for a few days to settle into our OE. The Cole home was our safe haven which we would return to frequently over the next 2 years and we saw Amanda and Lucinda grow from toddlers to school children. So many memories of this kind and caring lady, R.I.P Jilleen Flea
Jilleen was a remarkable person. Always ready to be supportive of all who needed it. We trained at Greenlane Hospital and she went on to be a tutor. A brilliant mind and a very caring nurse. We did our midwifery training at St Helens, Wellington, and she undertook to help the students who did not have English as a first language. I was reined in to be her assistant! It. helped me too. I earned honors along with Jilleen and Pat White. (our turor at Greenlane) Amanda, I met you when you were living in London, when Lucinda became ill. And your Dad when he was 'front of house' at the Mercury Theatre in Ponsonby. I didn't recognize Jilleen in her photo!!!! Amanda I can only offer sympathy at this sad time. With love and happy memories. Elizabeth Makgill P.S. I am malingering in Palms Lifecare Village in Pukekohe....
May the universe guide her way and hold her with the tenacity and gentleness that Jilleen held many of us. A woman who stood with me and many others in the bald reality of our changing lives. Thank you, Jilleen and may your spirit continue to nurture the love you have left us all with.
