In Loving Memory of Dear Karen. It’s hard to believe that you are no longer with us, but your warmth, kindness, and generosity will remain in our hearts forever. From the first moment I met you, it was clear that your soul was as beautiful as your smile. You had this incredible way of making everyone around you feel welcome, loved, and at ease. Whether it was a word of encouragement, a thoughtful gesture, or just your kind presence, you always knew how to brighten up a room. You were a constant reminder of how important it is to be kind, to listen, and to always approach life with an open heart. Your smile was never far away, and it felt like the world was a little lighter whenever you were around. I’ll never forget how, even though you knew I was far away from my family, you always took the time to remind me to reach out to my loved ones. It was such a simple thing, but it meant the world to me. Your thoughtfulness was a reflection of the love and care you carried in your heart for everyone. Though we will miss you dearly, I take comfort in the fact that your memory will live on in the kindness you showed, the smiles you shared, and the way you made everyone feel like family. Thank you for being an incredible person and for touching so many lives in the most beautiful way. Rest in peace, Karen. You’ll forever be in our hearts.

Dear Karen, Though I did not have a chance to meet and know you, through what Row told me you were a loving mum and lovely lady. As John said, thank you for accepting her into the family, she needed that and you gave her that love and acceptance 🩷 Should we have met we would surely have found each other in our love for cooking and mostly creativity From Jack, Dodge and myself we wish your family strength and most of all that they'll always remember you in their hearts and mind 🙏🏻

Your Mum was an awesome & beautiful lady. I met her back in the late 70s early 80s when we were in Country Music Clubs, i loved her singing, she had the voice of an angel. I sang at the same shows she was in. I have some videos of the shows we sang in but the tapes have deteriorated now and I dont have a video player to play them on, one song she sang was Storms Never Last, she made that song her own. Your Mum called her orange drink her giggling juice, she was one of the best to have fun around. We lost contact over the latter years but i never ever forgot her. The last time I seen her was when she come to Hawera when she lived in Manaia. RIP Karen🌹🌹

I arrived at the beginning of the year at Tanui and the very first person to Welcome me was Karen. She always had a kind word to share, full of encouragement. Often would chat during and sometimes after my shift. She was so proud of her children and spoke so fondly of them. She will be dearly missed but take comfort in knowing she is pain free. RIP Karen

It was lovely getting to know Karen, she was always interested in me and my family, she cared ao much for everyone around here. She turned up one day with a recipe book, with some of her handwritten recipes for me to use, it was really good. She loved her family and were so proud of them. Karen will be missed by us all

I have known Karen for many years ( since the 70's). We both went to Country Music together where we had great times). I stayed at her home many times over the many years. I adored her. I haven't seen her for a few years since Waimea Street, NP. Ive lived in Australia for many years and we chatted to each other online heaps. It was an absolute pleasure to be in her life. My condolences to her children and their partners. Very sad
