Peter Lawrence Boisen

3 June 1952 – 10 May 2025

Marion’s partner in crime Peter passed on 10 May 2025 out doing what he loved, cycling on a sunny afternoon.

Loved dad of Rachael and Diccon, Dana and Rob, and Trudy. Loved Granpa of Isla Mae, Freia, Olivia, Zoe and Carter. Big brother to Marion, Carol, Heather, and families. Brother-in-law to Les, Ngaire and families.

Peter’s various interests, infectious zest for life and way of pulling people into his antics has meant he has made many lifelong friends in his 72 years.

A service to celebrate Peter’s life will be held at 2pm Thursday 15 May 2025 at Eagars Te Henui Chapel, Lemon St, New Plymouth.

This service will be livestreamed (and saved) on this page for those who are unable to attend in person.

Instead of flowers, please consider contributing to a memorial seat and plaque to be placed at Pukeiti Rhododendron Gardens (Peter’s Uncle Les was the first resident curator at Pukeiti in the 1950s).

Please transfer donations to Marion Boisen’s account: 153948 0447302 80

Sorry to hear of Pete's passing, Marion. It has been many years since we all graced the hockey fields together, but both Eddie and I have very fond memories of those games of NPC women (top of the comp) against our men. Such fun, and great memories to hold dear. Kind regards, Carol & Eddie

Marion and family-a real shock to learn of Peters passing! I go back a long way with Peter as childhood friends with my Dad as our teacher in the Waitaangas and the antics we got up to then. After that I lost contact but caught up with him again in Fletcher Challenge days at Mckee and Mangahewa. As all other Tributes have mentioned he was a positive and fun person to be with and this rubbed off onto people around him. RIP Peter. Thinking of you. Dennis and Evelyn Mills, Urenui.

Marion and family, Very sorry to hear that Peter is no longer with you all, but I'm sure his positive spirit and energy will always be with you. He (and you) were very welcoming when we worked (and ran) together in the mid 90s, and on later family visits. Our climb of Mt Taranaki via Carrington Ridge was a real day to remember. So glad you were able to visit last year, and see the other end of the globe. Our thoughts are with you all. Matthew PS I didn't know about the Pukeiti link - we visited when we lived on Plymouth Road.

Marion, Our deepest sympathies to you and your family at the shocking and very sad passing of Peter. Although we are relatively new friends, thanks to the Alfa Romeo Club of NZ, we were immediately struck by the warmth and jovial character that was Peter’s persona. He will be sadly missed by us and all in the Alfa Club. Unfortunately we will be travelling to Auckland at the time of Peter’s service, but rest assured you will be at the forefront of our thoughts at that time. Rest peacefully Peter. Wow, what a shock. We are so deeply sorry for your loss. We will be attending the funeral via the live video link and will raise a glass in honor of such a warm, kind, and energetic man. His passion for life was truly infectious – full of energy and always including those around him in his boundless joy. His generosity and kindness meant that we were able to enjoy one of our most memorable and joyous trips, for which we are forever grateful. We genuinely expected to welcome you both to our home this year, and it’s hard to believe we won’t have that chance. Please know that you are in our thoughts, and we are sending you so much love and strength in this difficult time. With all our love Jayne and Andrew xx

Sending love to all the fam during this sad time. A favourite Peter memory for me is him laughing at approx 8 year old me trying to politely cut a slice of tomato for my sandwich and it squirting and squishing everywhere until it no longer resembled a tomato. He then got another one and showed me the trick to gently piercing the skin and slicing without squeezing. Tomato cutting has been a breeze ever since!

Jemma Upson

The most amazing man who showed me love and kindness as a child, an amazing father to the girls. Sending love to Marion, Rach, Dana and all the family. Xox
