Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 12 May 2025, aged 89 years. Beloved husband of Margaret for 65 years. Cherished father to Kim and Lynley. Treasured grandad to Ricki, Kelly, Laura, Darren, and Jordan, and great grandad to Lilly, Amaria, Eden, and Esme
A Service for Don is to be held at Holy Trinity Church, 215 Devonport Rd, Tauranga, on Tuesday 20 May at 12.30 pm followed by a light lunch, and burial at the RSA section at Pyes Pa Memorial Park.

He was a devoted and faithful servant in the Anglican Church serving in the Hui Amorangi o Te Manawa o Te Wheke, the Diocese of Waiapu. He served as Vestry Member in Tauranga Rohe, Diocesan Planning Committees for several groups involving the Church Constitutional Change, Hui Amorangi Whaiti, Chair Hui Amorangi Trust Board, Member of the Anglican Insurance Board, The General Synod/ Te Hinota Whanui Distribution Advisory and the Care for the Environment Committees. Don was passionate, to see the restoration of the Parawai Church and the development of a community Hall facility at Parawai Thames. He served as a NZ Customs Enforcement Officer and was deployed in the Pacific for a time. He was an avid Rugby Player and earned a position at provincial level. He was a skilled fisherman and loved his homestead that he built on Rangiwaea Island in the Bay of Plenty. Don believed in fair sharing of resources time and knowledge he expressed this wherever he went. He was a great family man, a Father, Grand father and Brother to many. May he rest in Peace and Rise in Glory.
