David Peehikuru passed away peacefully on Friday, 16 May 2025 at Whakatane Hospital with family by his side; aged 84 years.Dearly loved husband of Edna. Cherished dad to David and Liz, Lisa and Bruce, Waiena and Dale, Stephanie and Craig. Treasured grandad of 11 grandchildren and great grandad of 3.5 great grandchildren.A service celebrating David's life will be held at the chapel of Gateway Funeral Services, 2-4 Ranfurly Court, Kawerau on Tuesday, 20 May 2025 at 11:00am followed by private cremation. David will be resting at his Kawerau home from Friday afternoon - all are welcome to visit.

To Aunty Edna & Family. Sorry we couldnt be there today. Our deepest condolences to all of you. Uncle David was our unsung hero. Thank you for being there for our parents and thank you for being there for us. Dads waiting to play canasta with you without the wives. We will treasure our memories and never forget. A mighty tree has fallen. Go rest Uncle you have earnt it.
That smile!!! Uncle David your infectious nature and spirit will be missed. Your endless energy and joy, you could light up the darkest room . My love and thoughts are with the family in this day, you all did your Dad proud!!!
