Dearest Roger, Clifford, Barry, and Lorraine We are so, so sorry to hear of the passing of your incredible mom. She was a total legend! We will be holding you in our hearts and prayers as you celebrate the life of your extraordinary mother. Loads of love from all of us. Today, we honour the life of a truly remarkable woman—Linda Bouton. While many of you in New Zealand knew her as a mother, friend, neighbour, and family member, I would like to speak for a moment about the profound impact Linda had during her time in South Africa—particularly at the Missionvale Care Centre, where she volunteered for many years. Linda worked closely with our founder, Sr Ethel Normoyle, and from the very beginning, she brought not just her skills and dedication, but her whole heart to our mission. She was instrumental in putting systems in place for clothing distribution and also lovingly wrapping Christmas presents for some of the poorest children in our city. She always ensured that dignity was preserved, and that every item given was done so with care, respect, and love. Her work brought structure to our efforts, but it was her compassion that brought true meaning to them. Linda never sought recognition. She gave of herself simply because she cared. And through that unwavering generosity, she touched countless lives. Today, as we say goodbye, we also say thank you. Thank you, Linda, for your service, your heart, and your example. Your legacy lives on in the smiles of the children you cherished, in the hands of those you clothed, and in the spirit of Missionvale, which you helped shape.
