Unexpectedly but peacefully with her family by her side at Taranaki Base Hospital on Wednesday, 21 May 2025 aged 78. Dearly loved wife of Barry. Cherished mother and mother-in-law of Adrian & Karla, Justine & Craig, Ellie & Jess, and James & Dan. Treasured Grandma of David, Jonathan, Tara, Abbey, and Micah.
Loved Daughter of Ern and Betty Beaumont of Strathmore, Wellington, and sister of Margaret and Fran.

Requiem Mass for Marie will be celebrated at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, Powderham Street, New Plymouth, on Monday 26 May, 2025 at 10.30am. Followed by a private cremation.

At book club she contributed so much, organising us and our events and sorting books, offering interesting, intelligent insights and stories of her experiences and always so warm, kind and positive. We were so honoured to know her and spend time in interesting places, sharing amazing food and wine together. We felt like we knew you all long before we actually met as her love for her family flowed into so many conversations. We will always treasure our memories with Marie and count it such a privilege to have known her.
