Lee you were an absolute blast to work with! Sometimes hard to get hold of, sometimes just dropping in unexpectedly, but always with a massive smile and a bit of laugh to be had. You will be hugely missed by us girls. Thank you for being genuine, caring and kind. XXXOOO

I only really knew you from some friendly chats in the Omanu car park about the surf and you always were a standout to me at the blowhole on a big stormy day . You were always so supportive of my kids in the surf and I enjoyed our chats . So sad to hear you have passed on and much love to all your whanau . Lee, I got a call from you a fare few months ago to come and see you after not seeing you for many years. It took a call and I was down to see you. I feel privilege that you wanted to see me and let me know about what is happening and your life. Thank you for that catch up. It was so perfect. On reflection I know what that catch up was about. Thank you for the summer nights and surf days. You were always so protective and happy to see me. Not always in life you have friends from school days and to last this long is so so special. You will always be one of those people in my life that is truly close to my heart. Thank you for the memories and friendship. Love you Lee x

Lee became a part of our family many years ago when he and our younger son became friends. As surfing became a passion for both the move to Mount Manganui was inevitable. There the friendship continued and grew, as did a business and a young family for both. Lee worked hard and played hard and we are devastated that his family and friends have lost him at such a young age. He was always caring and generous towards people he loved. Sympathy is not much comfort but Megan, Addison, Fletcher and Alex have ours. Hug one another lots, talk about Lee and accept help when you need it. Lee…My heart is broken. You never forget the mates that were with you at the beginning. It doesn't matter how long you haven't seen each other; it would be like no time had passed once you meet again. You had a light that was authentic, real and so endearing. It's not right that you left without warning and you will be missed by so many my friend! Thank you for being such a special and loyal friend to my little bro (a very rare friendship)...you were family to us brother!!! No one who knew you will ever forget the honesty, generosity and laughter you brought to any room or situation. We are all scratching our heads and broken a little today.
