Goodbye dear Gladys Our connection goes back many years you and dear Jock were my landlord and landlady in the late 70"s when you lived on your orchard Puriri Park on SH10 . I lived in part of one of your packing sheds and was there for about 5 years when I bought my own little cottage in 1980 .down Skudders Beach Road. You were the most warm lovely couple and you made me so welcome as I had just arrived from the UK . and you were both kindness itself. Thank you Gladys you will always be in my heart ,rest peacefully up there with dear Jack

To My Nanna It is never easy to say farewell, You have gifted us with so many precious memories to share and tell For a lady so petite and small, You had such love and care for all You had wisdom, knowledge, skills and talents abound, You were where answers, help and advise were found When we were sick or sad or not quite right, You were always there to our delight, You always had the remedy or potion, A hot water bottle, Cod Liver oil or Rawleighs lotion. We loved the yummy food you made, Your melting moments and those little minted potatoes, But your slices and cakes made sure we stayed! The memories of orchard adventures, tree swings and oodles of fruit, Riding on mowers and cuddles to boot. Trips to the beach to throw sticks for sweet Bessy, And making your lounge room all kinds of messy! Thankyou for being the best nanna to me, Your the kind of nanna I hope one day to be.
