"Gone Hunting"
Remember the Smiles, and not the tears, For all the hunts throughout the years
Don’t dwell on things left unsaid, Cherish the memories we had instead
Like the crisp mornings and dusky nights, A trophy Stag within our sights
Deer camp with friends and family, These moments meant so much to me
When peace from nature all around, Was shattered by a sudden sound
I always hoped your aim was true, And smiled with pride for all of you
So don’t cry for me because life is done, Stalking the fields has just begun
Come Autumn may smiles adorn your face
Knowing I’ve gone hunting…
in a better place
Tony, so sad to hear of your passing, another one of us gone too soon. Your warm cheeky smile, laughter and hugs will all be remembered and missed. Hope you find peace.
Hey, Tony. The divergent trajectory of our lives has taken us to different places. And so, our times together, once so commonplace, have become less so - as our frames of reference have shifted from the lives that were created for us as children, to those we have created for ourselves. But when I trace the arc of those lives back, I find myself at a time and a place when we frequently shared space – and this is where my enduring memories of you lie. Our families lived almost as one in those days growing up in Martinborough. And for me, having my older cousins in the same town and the same school was a source of playground security for that scrawny kid. And I remember your influence, as you advanced through your teens, setting up a stereo in your room in New York Street. Wiring tweeters into the speakers you had to improve their sound and marveling when they crossed over. And I thought it was cool too, and I wanted to do the same. And as the years went by, our times together became fewer and further between, but the warmth of your greeting remained. Family was important. Rest in peace, Tony. You’ll be missed. Your cousin, Gary.
To our dear brother in law.Thankyou for the good memories we have of you.in the times we spent together, you always made us welcome and you always had a smile on your face and we had plenty of laughter.. You will be missed.but never forgotten.
Goodbye Tony. I will miss your bear hugs whenever we met. Will miss your smile when your hunts ended in success and when your Jeep got through the tough bits. Your pride with which you always spoke of your family and grandchildren. Will miss you.........til we meet again your sister Lizzy.💔💔
