Dearest Aunty What a beautiful send off yesterday. The amount of love in the room, all for you aunt. I struggled to get up to share mums words for you but i did it. I struggle speaking in front of a audience but I wish I had of shared some of my beautiful memories as well. While I hold onto some regrets Aunt I also hold onto some very special and cherished memories. The post cards almost monthly from when I was 7. PNG, Fiji, Australia and wherever you were on the ships at the time. Telling me what you were doing on all your adventures and planning for the school holidays so I could come and stay with you and go and see Nan and dick. These post cards and gifts have come with me since I got them some 32 years ago. I have kept them in a treasures box since. Still remember being scared of the dark and getting homesick and sleeping in with you. The creamy mushrooms on toast you would get up in the mornings and make for us(i still make em the way you did and they are a hit with every1). You still have the best seafood salad ive ever had!! To coming away with you on the golden bay during the holidays, meeting the crew, tours of the engine room etc. I still have the handwritten cook book you made for me too!! Let's not forget the time I was 20min late home in Waihi Beach. You following behind mum, walking from fyfe rd telling her "don't rob he'll be fine! "Your gonna embarrass him". Well..... I'll never forget the moment you both walked around the corner from the dairy toward the beach where I was sitting with some friends and a group of girls BOTH sporting dressing gowns and jandals.... I pretended to be invisible for a bit but it didn't work. Spoilt rotten everyday spent with you! The coffee custard twists, chocolate eclairs, KFC.... so many cherished and special memories. You will be sorely missed by so so many Aunty I love you and I'll see you when I get there Moe mai ra Aunty and give Dad, Nan and Dick a hug for me Rest easy Tony xx
