Dear Keith, Mathew, Cameron and family We are so sorry for your loss. Derryn was such a wonderful lady -- kind, warm, generous, enthusiastic, and so much fun. We are so grateful for having had Derryn in our lives. We will really miss her. My parents, Judy and Amin Satem also loved getting to know her. My father said that he was sorry that he wouldn't be able to spend more time with her. We loved talking and sharing family history with Derryn. She generously shared some amazing old family photos with us. She had a special place in her heart for James Darcy Palmer, our great uncle who sadly passed away in France in 1918 of his war wounds. Derryn and Keith visited his grave in France and aways honoured his memory. Derryn also made sure that all the family graves in Hawera were well cared for. Love and best wishes. I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of dear Derryn. Please accept my heartfelt condolences, especially to Keith and the rest of her family. Although I only met Derryn a few times many years ago, I will always remember her warmth and kindness. She made a beautiful teddy bear for my daughter Tiana, who still treasures it to this day. May Derryn rest in peace. I truly believe that kind souls find their way to a beautiful place — and Derryn, without doubt, is in a very, very special one. May God bring comfort and strength to her loved ones during this difficult time.
