To my dear ole friend, this photo of you captures your āhua beautifully. To everyone, whānau, mokopuna and friends gathered on this day, mihi mahana atu koutou, warm greetings to you all. My memories though we haven't caught up in years, are from our early days with our young children. You were the cruisey and gentle, graceful and calm lady in the house. I was a first time mum and we were chalk and cheese, and I smile about this today. You were a nurturer with a twinkle in your eye for the creative spirit in those around you. You embodied, manaakitanga and aroha in all that you did. You loved fully. Teachings you offered were to be grateful to share kai with others, you brought people together and we laughed and shared good times and you were a fantastic cook. You spoke with kindness. You taught resilience, through leaner times you were resourceful. And to learn to live fully in the moment at your own pace. Thankyou for the reminder and your guiding hand as a young mum. Thankyou for loving my children, and sharing yours with us too. From one nan to another, may your spirit soar high. Moe mai tō moenga roa e te Mareikura, Rhonda. Hakahaka, Nina, Reuben and whānau

Rhonda you were such a beautiful soul . You unassumingly and quietly lit up so many peoples lives with your creative presence and interest in people and the world. I will always cherish our talks about things we had learnt through our journey of life, our shared beliefs and outlooks. You didn’t sweat the small stuff and were always so kind, giving and caring. You really were unique in the most beautiful way and you will be sorely missed. But you will live on in the hearts of all the people whose lives you have touched. Be at peace now Rhonda. Love Kate and the rest of the Sole’s in Guernsey ❤️❤️

Sending all our love from Guernsey to Rhonda’s beautiful family. This is how I will always remember you radiant Rhonda — one of life’s true gems. Her smile was warm and infectious, and her presence had a quiet, gentle magic to it. You could feel her kindness before she even spoke — it simply radiated from her. Rhonda never sought the spotlight. She was often content to sit quietly in the background, listening with a thoughtful smile, always making others feel seen and safe. Her love of books and her thirst for knowledge made her endlessly fascinating to talk to — hours could pass in her company like minutes. We love you so very much, Rhonda. You truly are one of life’s angels, and heaven is blessed to have you. Love from your Guernsey Girls & Boys

It’s hard to put into words the weight of losing someone as vibrant and unforgettable as Rhonda. She’s been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—woven into the very fabric of my story since the day I was born. Rhonda was a true free spirit—kind-hearted, fiercely independent, and always living life on her own terms. She had a way of turning everyday moments into something memorable. I’ll never forget quiet mornings sipping coffee in Pukehina, the laughter we shared during her stay with me in Brighton, and the joy and mischief of our time together in Guernsey. One of my most vivid memories is of her sitting on the steps in Brighton, carving stone—so focused, so at peace, completely in her element. That image will always stay with me. She brought warmth, creativity, and an unmistakable spark wherever she went. Her presence was a gift, and the moments we shared are treasures I’ll carry with me always. My heart is heavy with her passing, but I am deeply grateful for the time we had. Rest easy, Rhonda—you were one of a kind, and you will be missed beyond words. My thoughts are with Auntie Elies, Uncle Paddy, Troy, Hayley (and their families), Jacqui, and John. Ka kite anō au i a koe, e taku hoa.
