To Marina's family I worked with Marina at St Mary's for 9 years and remember her fondly. She coped with me when some others could not lol. Having been overseas for several years I returned to hear the news of her passing. Another link with the past is gone, sadly. May the Lord bless you all

Marina was my best friend and fellow pupil at the High School for Girls, Doncaster, West Yorkshire, UK, from 1948-1955. Marina was always a bit different from the rest of us . Her Christian faith shone out and she set an outstanding example of kindness and goodwill to others. I personally valued her friendship so much. My family and I are so very sad to hear of her death, and send our love and deepest sympathy to her family and friends in NZ. who will miss her so dearly. Mary Creaser

To Bronnie and family - thinking of you over these hard raw days. Mrs Roskilly is one of the reasons that I spend my days in a classroom now. Her enthusiasm for knowledge and learning, the stories, her humour and her genuine care for young people have all stuck with me. I’m lucky she made me understand the pointlessness of waffling as well as the reason that teachers should not discuss politics with their classes. She did make me a little wary of red-headed fellas though ;) Big hugs to you and yours Bronnie - have a big sing for her somewhere down home x

I'm so sorry to hear of your Mum's passing. She taught me at St Mary's from 1988-1992. She was such an amazing teacher! We had so much fun in her classes. We were all a bit naughty and would encourage her to tell us all sorts of stories. I'm sure we only ever got through half of the work we were supposed to do because of her storytelling. She told us about the time she was in the laundry at uni in Derby when she and her friends found a body floating in the river. She told us the contour lines on a map were caused by sheep walking on the hills (LOL!). She warned us not to mix alcoholic drinks, and not to drink gin as it made her cry. She warned us again carrying other people's parcels or bags as we crossed international borders. I ended up studying geography at uni because of your Mum. I visited Derby in the UK to see where your Mum went to uni. She treated us so well. Teachers like your Mum have an impact on lives well beyond our time at school. I'm a teacher myself now. I hope I'll be in my student's hearts like your Mum is in mine. We knew she cared about us.

My deepest sympathy to Marinas family. Marina was an excellant musician and musical director for Stratford on Stage including Sound of Music. She was also involved with Stratford Mountain Singers and played the organ for the Holy Trinity church for many years. She had a great sense of humour and will be sadly missed by all. I am so sorry to hear of the death of Marina. She was such a wise woman with a deep knowledge of many things. She had many talents which she used for good and had a very deep faith. I loved her sense of humour. We worked together for nearly 5 years at St Mary’s Diocesan now Taranaki Diocesan and in fact she was on the interview panel which appointed me.

I have many happy memories of the years we were on the staff of St Mary's.
