Rushbrooke, Douglas Lloyd (Doug)

Passed away unexpectedly on Friday 16th May, while on his boat in France. We’re grateful to know he was in a place that brought him immense joy and will be at peace. Adored father to Adam, Mark, Ellie and Lizzie, husband to Karen for 38 years and Grandad to Elai, Kyla, Ted, Daisy, Theodora and Margot. While the shock of his passing is still settling in, we chose to honour him in the way he lived; full of heart, laughter, looking on the bright side and with a deep appreciation for good connection, family, and the little pleasures of life. Whether you knew him well or only crossed paths with him once, chances are he made you smile. He was a father, a husband, a grandfather, a brother, a son, and a friend that you could always count on. We love him dearly and miss him already. A celebration of Doug’s life will be held at Narrows Landing, 431 Airport Road, Hamilton on Saturday 7 June at 11:00am.
