SMITH, Rodney Richard. Passed away on 9 October 2025, aged 79 years. 'A fight to the end'. Loved husband of Maureen (O'Connell) for sixty years. Son of the late Alan and Ruth Smith (Morrinsville). Brother of Diane, and the late Murray Campbell (Cambridge) and the late Howard and Merril (Paparoa). Father of Wayne and Jody, and Angela and Sean. Grandad of Antony, Allan, Haylee and Dylan, James, Aisling and Ciara. Great Grandad of Lilly and Ruby. Friend of Ingrid. A celebration of Rodney's life will be held at the Maungakaramea Hall at 10:30am on Wednesday 15 October, followed by burial at Maungakaramea Cemetery (Snooks Road). Rodney's wish was to celebrate his life with a drink and cuppa at Maungakaramea Bowling Club as a final send off.
