I am so grateful for life of and love you gave to Joy. For the laughter, peace, hard work and companionship you shared. You will be remembered and missed by so many people: friends, family and all those who shared your adventures: on the land , the sea and in the bush you so loved. Happy hunting Bob. Till we meet again
To Nic, Ange, Kate & families, Sorry to hear about Bob's passing. Thinking of you at this Sad time. Fiona Booth
Bob was my first ever boss., back in 1981 during the school holiday. My family moved to Mangamire in 1981. My dad was a sub station operator. I used to peer through the fence line watching Bob as he rounded up the cows for milking, I was 9 years old. One day as I was looking through the fence, Bob approached me and said, Do you want a job? and I gladly accepted and from this moment in time my journey into the workforce began. There was a lot of firsts…. Bob gave me my first motorbike it was a Honda XL 125, the funny thing was I couldn’t even touch the ground, Bob just said to lean it up against something and away you go. I rode my first Trike, 3 wheeler motorbike, i drove my first tractor, I milked my first cow, well that was 250 head to be exact! I was introduced to my first cow yard poo clean up using a powerful water hose that put me on my asrse and into the shit so to speak, Fun times. Bob showed me how to catch my first trout, and eel. Bob took me on his motor cross competitions and how to get mud in your face, but it was super awesome fun, Bob had me on his Honda XR 200 and I experienced my first wheel stand holding on for dear life. I handled my first hay bail, I think there was over 100 I handled that day, however the one thing I remember was having my first beer. At the end of the day, we were all relaxing and Bob came up to me and said here, you deserve it and that was my first ever taste of a cold beer! Finally I had my first pay check $ 264.50. I couldn’t believe how many lollies I could buy, gave it to my mum and she gave me back $20, not sure what happened to the rest Anyways I would just like to say how thankful I am for Bob being part of my life all those years ago, setting me on a path that reward comes from hard work. We reconnected back in November last year from a Facebook post and I had the pleasure to spend time with Bob and Joy just after Christmas last year. I am forever so grateful to this humble man, thank you so much Bob, my first Boss
