Stirling Kerr

Also known as "Julie Anne"

18 December 1959 – 12 June 2025

I didn't expect to appear in this column so early, but here I am. I died at 11.15am on Thursday 12 June 2025. My name is Julie Kerr, also known as Stirling and I was looking forward to a quiet retirement surrounded by bees, fruit trees and fun with family and friends.

However, I'm unfortunately in this death column due to a health care system that failed me, and I'm sure many others.

Please help celebrate my life by attending my service at Mt Eden Village Centre 449 Mt Eden Road on Wednesday 25 June 11.30 am, followed by my planting at Hillsborough Cemetery.

I loved watching the online service and hearing about Stirlings life....from line dancing, swimming to being sober and a proud lesbian. You were very much loved. That is clear. RIP Stirling. You are unforgettable xx

Dear Julie, I know you are at peace now, somewhere in a cosy spot with your much loved Mrs Hughes purring on your lap. No more noisy cello from that asshole next door! May the road rise to meet you, May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Rest in love my friend x

I first met you at the KG Club at Beach Road . Your youthful take on life and your handsome butch stride always welcome me as I negated my way through work children and my own fragmented relationships.. I am so sorry you missed your retirement and the bees and flowers.. So each morning when I go to attend my own garden I will think of you. Go well.....
