With sadness and a broken heart, I am sharing the news that Brian lost his battle today, August 4th 2026. Such a fight to stay this side, but today realizing he could fight no longer. Brian was at peace, he had his family and close friends with him, to guide him and ease his transition.
Brian will be coming home, friends are welcome to visit, chat and remember, sharing stories and special moments.
Thanks so much to all the wonderful love & care shown to Brian, from the hospice whanau. He felt so safe in your hands.

Sorry to hear about the passing of Brian. Sending our love to you all. A great person and musician. RIP Brian From all the Inglewood Curd Family xx
Brian the care and absolute compassion you had towards the guys at Kennedy was absolutely admired and appreciated. Brilliant sense of humour and will be sorely missed by Nigel and Tony. Will miss the times of parking my butt on the sofa while visiting Nigel on Friday night and having a chat about this that and everything else and some times stirring Nigel who would give it straight back. A classic memory I would bring beer and chips for Nigel and listen to music but got a hint to drop the chips cos Nigel was starting to expand. Twas a couple of months later and I snuck a bag in to Nigel. While he was tucking in I chucked a text to Brian Zip across to Nigels room and catch him chomping chips which he did Nigel dissapeared those chips so fast even a magician would have been amazed. Also will miss spotting Brian trotting around with the guys at Centre City and chatting at Muffin Break. Also Brian one of the most amazing and talented guitarists I have listened to. Best concerts at the Pukekura dell. RIP Peace Brian From Phil and Delwyn.
I had the honour of working alongside Brian. He gave his all to advocating for people in the disability sector and was deeply valued by those he supported and worked with. Brian was guided by strong values and a commitment to doing what was right. You will be very much missed, Brian.
