So many happy memories of my teaching time in Hawera, working with Lynne at Normanby School and being on the Parents Association at Hawera Intermediate when my boys were there and getting to know Alan as he taught two of my boys. But upper most is the years I worked at Normanby. What a great staff there lead by the most amazing principal. Sympathy and love to Alan and all the family.

Mrs Wilson, I was so sad to hear of your passing. While many of my memories from Normanby Primary School have faded with time, the one thing I remember clearly is a kind lady who genuinely wanted all of her tamariki to thrive. Your care, encouragement, and belief in your students left a lasting impression, even years later. In fact, I was thinking of you only a few months ago as I reflected on my career and the path that led me to where I am today. I wish I had reached out to tell you how much of an impact you had. I remember the friendship you shared with my grandparents and all of the joy you would bring to our school, from jump jam in the early morning, to our annual school gala. I distinctly remember the kindness and understanding you shared with the kids in our class who were going through challenging times. How lucky we are to have shared this time of your life and to have been shaped by your kindness. Thank you for the difference you made in so many young lives. Sending love to your family and all those who knew you. Ngā mihi nui Bridgette

So very sorry to hear of Lynne's passing. Thinking of you all. That lady lit up a room like no one else I know. She was great entertainment on a badminton court in the old days when I used to go to badminton with Keith. A great friend of the Chittendens and you guys as well as us will have so many happy times to remember with Lynne. Lots of love Marilyn.

It is with a heavy heart that I acknowledge the passing of Lynne, our previous Normanby School Principal and a very special, well-loved and greatly respected lady here in the Normanby community. Lynne stepped into the Acting Principal role at our kura in 1990 and was appointed as Principal in February of 1991. She retired 19 years later in 2009. She was a teacher/principal for 32 years and 22 of those were spent at Normanby School. Those of us who had the pleasure of working with her will remember her fun antics and her passion for wanting tamariki to simply love coming to school. We know that many past students, staff and board members will have hilarious stories about Lynne during her time here at Normanby, some will even remember her pulling out their wiggly teeth - just one of the many things we will remember about Lynne’s vivacious and energetic personality! We will forever treasure the many log book entries that Lynne sustained of all the events and highlights of life at Normanby School over the years. These journals ensure that a little of Lynne's spirit will remain with us always. Our condolences and thoughts go out to Allan and the extended Wilson family. Haere, haere, haere, Lynne. Moe mai rā.
