Well Anne, I guess I won't be popping in to see you when I'm in Aucks. How long ago was it we worked together at McNairs? Early '80's 🤔 Time passes so quickly and it seems to speed up as we get older. You were always good for a laugh and a joke or a story. I'm sure you'll be happy seeing Shaun. RIP Anne xox
Millie and I first met at the wedding rehearsal for our children Carolyn and Brent and although she lived out of Auckland at the time we kept in touch through the years until Auckland became her home to be closer to family. We have shared so much in our lives both happy and sad. As we aged we would commiserate about the illnesses that affected us being unable to live life as we would really wish. Through so much Millie battled on the very best she could and we never ceased to try to put the world to rights often joking that we should have been politicians. I shall miss those messenger calls and in person catchups. Rest easy and pain free now Millie Ros Martin (Grandy Martin) Carolyn Thompsons mum. Brent's mum in law.
Anne and I were born nearly 4 years apart with almost completely opposite personalities. So we had to contend with that right from the start. But like siblings often do, we pulled together when the chips were down and went back to disagreeing when they weren't. You learn a bit as you age and I sometimes saw her as a bit of an Aunt Daisy, oldies will remember her radio show with home help for houswives. Practical pragmatic and very useful. A strong down to earth determind brave woman and useful.for
