Jenny and I have a long friendship dating back to the early 1990s. We were colleagues in the NZ Remembers office marking the 50th anniversary of WWII and then at the Visits and Ceremonial Office and the Royal Commonwealth Society. Jenny understood protocol and attention to detail was paramount. `She knew how to conduct herself in the presence of royalty, politicians, diplomats and visiting Guests of Government. Jenny had the privilege (and the responsibility that went with it) to work on a range of high profile ceremonial and national events. These included the annual celebration of Commonwealth Day, ANZAC Day, Tomb of the Unknown Warrior. These and other commemorations required her to carry out her prescribed duties at public facing events on the parliamentary precinct, the NWM Hall of Memories and Wellington Cathedral of St Paul. In so many ways she had a rich life and experienced things that many will never have the opportunity to do. Farewell faithful friend and colleague. RIP Jenny
I have just received the sad news of Jenny's passing and send our deepest condolences to her family. Jenny was a great supporter of the Friends and I appreciated seeing her when she visited the UK. I also have fond memories of Jenny when I visited Wellington and she showed me the project for the war memorial and hall of Remembrance. Sad loss indeed. Annette, Administrator to the Friends of St George's and Descendants of the Knights of the Garter.
To Paul and Family, It was with great sadness that we read of Jenny's passing. We knew she was not well, but even so, it cannot have been any easier for you all. A life lived to the fullest. Please accept our sincerest condolences. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all on this sad occasion. Sincerely Jim, Janine and Ellie McLaughlin
