Steve, Sharon and Lucy, we were so saddened to hear of Austin's passing. We have lovely memories of him. His legacy remains at St Peter Chanel Catholic School in the form of the Austin Taylor Award, which is given out annually for service to the school. His service and diligence in monitoring the use of the sandpit earned him the inaugural Austin Taylor Award, and to this day it is a highly sought-after trophy at our school prize-giving. He was a real character, fun to be around. Fondly remembered by Nick and Dianne Quinn, Tracey Blake, Maureen O'Halloran, Margaret Stokes, and Judith White

No time is ever a good time to say goodbye. Our hearts are with the Taylor family as they farewell their beloved Austin. Austin was an inspiration to so many. Through his role as Timothy Carson on Shortland Street, he helped shine a light on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, bringing awareness and understanding to audiences across New Zealand. Beyond the screen, Austin, and his brother Hamish, family were tireless advocates for the Duchenne community, dedicating countless hours to fundraising, raising awareness through media interviews and press coverage, and supporting others affected by DMD. Their courage, generosity, and unwavering commitment have left a lasting legacy. Austin's impact will continue to be felt in the lives of so many, and he will be remembered with great affection and gratitude. Rest in peace, Austin. You will never be forgotten.
