Tributes

I was named after Margaret. “There is a land of the living and a land of the dead and the bridge is love.” It survives, and echoes through the autumn days into future summers with deepest meaning. Remember.

I remember walking on my own, from Tiber Street up through the cutting in the gorse to Buckley Road, as a young child, to spend time with your family. I remember being in the car with you all and eating fish and chips, while we were parked up around the bays.Lovely memories that have stayed with me. I know you will all miss her presence tremendously. May x

Dear Fi, David and Ella, thinking of you all today as you farewell and pay tribute to Margaret's life as Mum and Nana. May her warmth and love live long in your hearts and memories. Brenda xx

My deepest sympathies to Fiona, Ella, David, Charlotte, Emily & Stephen. Margaret (Mrs Swarbrick though to me for many years until she finally convinced me to call her Margaret) was a hoot. I loved going to watch her and Brian perform as part of the Strathmore Players. I was honoured to help with their 50th Wedding Anniversary. I am honoured that I got to be a small part of your and Brians life. Thank you for being so cool, and smart and funny. Gone but never forgotten. Love (as Brian would say) from THE Helen Galbraith x

Sending my love and condolences to my dear friend Fiona, Ella, and David. I remember the warmth that your mum and dad shared with me when I visited your home and remember fondly the nickname, they gave me Steffie. 😊

Many years ago I worked with Margaret at Seddon Secretaries in Wellington Hospital. She was the most fun person I think I ever worked with. Each day though filled with hard work was a great deal of fun. An amazing woman.
