Ah, dear Val. What a pleasure and honour it has been to have known you and to have been a part of your life, if only on the periphery. Sometimes in life we meet people who enrich our being. Lovely Val is one of those people I have been lucky enough to have shared moments with. The love I have witnessed her family heap on her is a testament to the warmth and wisdom that has emanated for her over the years. It has been a long road to a better life for Val but she can finally enjoy peace. It is with gratitude I say I am happy to have known her.

Val, It was always great to see you at family gatherings. Always with a smile and something to talk about. You were never scared to say what you thought - good for you!
