It is with profound sadness we announce the death of our much-loved Mary O'Brien.  Brilliant violinist and devoted teacher, adored aunt, sister, friend and inspiration to many.  Mary passed away peacefully in Birkenhead, North Shore on Sunday 1 March 2026, aged 92 years after a short illness.  

A Memorial concert to celebrate Mary's rich, adventurous life and passionate advocacy for music will be held at 2.00 pm in St Matthew's in the City Church, 132 Hobson St, Auckland CBD, on Sunday 8 March, International Women's Day.
