I will always remember Ray as the "Dad" of Carlton Terrace, a larger-than-life character with the best laugh. He knew how to keep us all in order but still have fun! What a beautiful tribute, so many personal memories Ray was a great man who is now at peace. Much love to you. Our love Lesa (The Bide family) xx
Dear Jeanette and family, On behalf of fire and emergency, please share our sincere condolences from our family to yours. I have shared Rays passing on our national portal, I'm sure that around many parts of our organization a breath will be taken to remember Rays contribution. I am sorry not to have been able to represent FENZ at the funeral, but please know Rays passing has not gone unnoticed. Our thoughts are with you and your family at this challenging time. Over the last few years we with 6 other couples go out often for meals on wedding anniversary and birthdays RIP Ray.
Thinking of you at this time of loss Jeanette, Suzie & Brett. I have fond memories of growing up at NP Fire Stn. with (at that time) Mr.& Mrs.Cronin & family. I again connected with Ray & Jeanette when I myself joined the NZ Fire Service in 1982 in Kilbirnie Wellington. Rest in peace Ray🙏 Kind regards Senior Station Officer Nick Burke New Plymouth (also on behalf of Michael Burke ex CFO NP & Bridget Burke).
Jeanette, Suzy and families - my deepest condolences. I remember fondly Ray’s time when working at Te Whare Puawai - he was ‘dad’ to all the guys. It was always great having our catch-ups when he and Jeanette joined some of the old crew for the odd lunchtime get togethers post those days. RIP Linda

To Jeanette, Suzie, Brett and extended family members, I really can't find the right words to express the sadness I am feeling right now except to say I feel so humbled and proud to have had Crony as a great mate, we had so many unforgettable times together, some of them were a bit rough but always enjoyable. I know he wasn't in good health, and he wouldn't wanted to be like that, I will be watching the service on Saturday and bless this moment and occasion of remembrance, wishing you all love I know how strong you are and the love you have for a beautiful husband, father, father in law and Koro. Rest in peace my friend and well catch up some time and load the golf bags up with cans (Double Brown) like we used to and head off for a game, just get rid of those ladies clubs.
