Peacefully at Taranaki Base Hospital on Friday, 21 November 2025 aged 88. Dearly loved husband of Doreen. Respected and loved father and father-in-law of Charlie & Amanda, Cecelia & Gary Russell, Tracey & Con Crowley, Shawn & Teresa, and Kate & Jim Mernin. Cheeky Pop of Briana, Niamh, Charlie, Caitlin, Samuel, Nathan, Bernie & Chops, Connor, Olivia, Rosie, Jack, and Liam, great grandfather to Flynn.

Requiem Mass for Charlie will be celebrated at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, 78 Victoria Street, Kaponga, on Wednesday 26 November 2025 at 11.00am. Rosary will be prayed in Charlie’s home Tuesday evening at 7pm.
In preference to flowers, please plant a native tree in memory of Charlie.

I have the fondest of memories with Charlie, when I rented his house on Gordon road, helping feed out to his beautiful galbieve's, the sage life advice and his incredible cheeky nature. When i moved to Manawatu, both Doreen and Charlie called in to visit me at PGG Wrightsons in Marton. Very special people, rest in Love Charlie ❤️
