JEFCOATE, Pearl Margaret. Peacefully with family at her side, at Hawthorndale Village, in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Jim Jefcoate. Loved and treasured Mum and mother-in-law of Valerie and John Borger, Neil and Yvonne, Colin and Judy, Allan and Linda, Lynette and the late Murray Livingstone. Loved grandma to her 12 grandchildren, loved wee grandma of her 28 great grandchildren. A very special wee grandma to her great great grandson. The Jefcoate Family would like to thank the staff at Hawthorndale Care Village for the love and care they have shown Pearl. A service to celebrate Pearl’s life will be held in the Windsor Community Church, on Monday 30th June 2025 at 1pm, followed by a private cremation. Messages can be sent to the Jefcoate Family, PO Box 632, Invercargill 9840 or on Pearl’s tribute page mwfunerals.co.nz/s/pearl. If you are unable to attend the service, you will find a livestream on Pearl’s tribute page.

Such a lovely lady. Loving sympathy to Lynette and all the family. Violet Stewart
Pearl by name and by nature, beautiful yet unquestionably strong. Grandma lived for family and has shown us all what it means to be a good wife, mother, grandmother and member of the community. She was also tough when necessary, be that pulling cheeky grand kids into line or having difficult conversations through her years of volunteering for Lifeline and likely the difficult yet practical ones she would have had with granddad before he passed. There was a great deal to admire and respect about the relationship between Jim and Pearl, we were certainly fortunate to have role models in our grandparents, not only in the strength of their marriage, but in their love of family and contribution to community. We were blessed to get some time with Grandma in April this year, and while she may have appeared a little frail, she was still full of love and razor sharp. Love you and miss you Grandma.
I was so sorry to hear of my dear friend Pearls passing. My deep sympathy to all of her family. We were very close friends and I will miss talking to her. I know she will now with the Lord whom she loved dearly. From Sylvia McIntyre
